Here is a slice effect for Final Cut Pro X. You can use this slice effect on any photo or video, it adds a slice of the same video on top of the one you apply it too. With the effect you can control the size and position of the slice, the scale, rotation, and position of the video, and weather or not to add a drop shadow.

  • Added Checkbox to Enable Blur
  • Popup for Blur Type
  • Choose between Gaussian Blur, Defocus Blur or Soft Focus

  • Tint Intensity

To Install Glass Slice V2 you can double click on the Install Glass Slice V2.mtt file and then hit install. To use the .mtt install script you will need the Motion Template Tool from Spherico. you can download this tool for free at http://www.spherico.de/filmtools/MTT/index.html

You can install Glass Slice V2 effect by taking the whole “Glass Slice V2″ folder and placing it into your Effects Folder. This folder is located at “HOME FOLDER>Movies>Motion Templates>Effects>
 
I recommend placing it in the effects folder inside a new folder called “Effects by Mikey” But thats up to you!

    Thanks for the plugin, i have trouble in making the animation of the mask postion (in Y axis) , i make two keyframes for the Y position but unfortunately nothing happens !! no keyframe animation in y axis !!!! i’m in snow leopard

  4. Make sure you add your first key frame, the move later in your timeline, add your second keyframe then reposition the Y value. If you move the Y position before you add a second keyframe it will move the whole animation.

    Ah ok, probleme solved, it was my mistake : i have to click first on the keyframe and then put a value on Y axis, and so on … well thanks another time for amazing plugin
